first non-professional athlete to win the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship. Five years later he won it again, taking the Stableford competition at Edgewood Tahoe GC in Stateline, Nev., by three points over Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, 80-77.

The Stableford system awards six points for eagle, three for birdie, one for par, none for bogey and minus-two for double bogey or worse.

Wagner held a two-point lead with two holes to play but doubled his lead at the par- 3 17th when he made birdie from inside 15 feet as Romo made par.

One hole later Wagner hit into the water on the par- 5 finisher, but saved bogey as Romo made par.
