Qualifying procedure
for 2014 announced
 When the PGA Tour announced
details of the 2014 tour qualifying
system that will determine the 50
cards available through the Web.com
Tour Finals—the year-end, three-tournament series featuring the top
75 players on the 2013 developmental
circuit money list and the players
who finished 126-200 on the 2013
PGA Tour FedEx Cup points list—it
became clear that protecting the
status of the Web.com’s best players
was a priority.
The top 25 earners from the 2013
Web.com Tour regular season will
be assured PGA Tour cards for 2014,
with 25 other players with the highest cumulative earnings in the three
events also advancing. “With the
Web.com Tour becoming the pathway
to the PGA Tour, it was important to
continue rewarding season-long performance on the Web.com Tour,” said
tour commissioner Tim Finchem.
The priority status for the 50 qualifiers will be determined by their ranking on the three-event money list. The
sites for the tournaments, which are
all expected to have $1 million purses,
have yet to be announced.

In addition, the money winner
in the 2013 Web.com Tour regular
season (and the leading money winner from the finals if it is not the same
person) will be fully exempt in 2014
and will get an invitation to the Players Championship.

Stricker eyes points as
the Ryder Cup nears
After making a bogey on the
par- 5 12th hole Friday at Greenbrier

Stricker was on the adios side of the

Then he ran off five straight birdies
to vault within five shots of Webb
